Hi, thank you for visiting the Well Club. I believe we all want to be well. When someone asks “how are you?” we want to say “I’m really well” (and mean it!). I also believe we’re all just doing the best we can, including trying to do all the things we “should” do to be well, often berating ourselves when we’re not disciplined or fall off the wagon.
The Well Club is borne out of a desire to make a space where those of us who are doing our best to figure it all out can meet, relate and share.
I’m not a wellness expert and I don’t have it all together in wellness. I’m just as lost as you may be! But that’s the point. When I find something that works, that makes me feel good, that energises me, or that I connect with, I instantly want to share it with other people.
There’s a lot of information out there about wellness, shoulds and shouldn’ts, and none of us has the time to scour through the websites, books, podcasts, enewsletters, blogs and magazines.
So how about we share what works for us and help each other live our most well lives?
What I’ve based the Well Club on are a few principles that seem to me to be common threads in wellness. They’re not new and they’re super simple. I feel like this could be the basis of a universal wellness recipe:
- Eat Well – the food and drink you put into your body is the single biggest contributing factor to your wellness (source: every piece of content I’ve ever read, seen or heard about dieting and wellbeing)
- Move well – we are beings designed to move our bodies and there’s a raft of research and evidence supporting the wellness benefits of exercise. There is literally no downside to regular physical activity that’s right for you.
- Love well – we’re a social species, and good relationships keep us living healthier longer
- Heal well – stress, trauma, emotional baggage. Any of it in the incorrect proportions is detrimental to wellness. Managing your healing with what works (massage, meditation, therapy) allows you to truly live your most well life
By sharing content, resources and ideas, I hope the Well Club community can help you build your recipe for your most well life. Because for each of us, that recipe is going to look a little different.
I’ll share my personal journey on the way – it’s part of my healing recipe, to keep educating myself on wellness, to talk to other people about what’s working for them (or not) and part of my life purpose to leave a positive impact on my world.
If you’re into the idea of living your most well life, I’d love for you to join the Well Club.
